I am really enjoying my participation in the Color Throwdown Challenge. In honor of Valentine’s Day, red, pink and grey are the color pallet.

These colors certainly lend themselves to a lovey-dovey card, but I decided to go for an encouraging Mermaid Tail design from Essentials by Ellen.

The tail was stamped and heat set using Hero Arts Sparkle Embossing Powder and using Zig Clean Color brushes I colored the tail in red and pink. The coordinating die made a perfect edge around the tail and I used my PaperTreyInk Waves Die coverplate to make the background out of white cardstock and vellum pieces. For the dark grey cardstock, I ran it through a Darcie embossing folder. Using a sentiment from the stamp set, I stamped it in black versifine ink and used clear embossing powder to heat set it. For a bit of interest I used Nuevo Drops. This was all adhered to a white top folding notecard.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your week!
